Maternity Nurse Agency and Night Nanny Agency, London. Maternally Yours

Night Nanny or Maternity Nurse specialist for Newborns?

The Choice Is Yours…

We have an extensive selection of experienced maternity nurses who will work on a live in or live out basis.  It’s entirely up to you whether you choose 24 hour care 5 or 6 days per week, nights only or days only.  It all depends on your family’s needs and preferences.  We can talk you through the options according to your due date and the availability of nurses at that time.

Maternity Nurses Who Live In

Typically working 5 or 6 days per week, she will be on duty 24 hours with an agreed break of 2-4 hours to catch up on sleep and to shower in the morning.

This schedule suits parents who want round the clock care and the rates of pay are not dissimilar to a live-out Night Nanny who works less hours.

She can either sleep in the baby’s nursery if you provide a separate bed for her in that room, or the baby’s crib can be placed in the Maternity Nurse’s own bedroom depending on the size of your household. By sharing a bedroom with baby, she will be able to tune in to baby’s noises and movements and attend to their every need giving parents much needed rest. You will provide meals and refreshments for her to prepare herself.

With the responsibility of looking after your baby, it is crucial that on her days off she has time to recharge her batteries. If unable to return home on her days off due to distance, she must be given ample breathing space, which will mean providing a separate room for her and that parents take baby into their bedroom on these days.

This arrangement can allow parents more flexibility, whilst the longer hours of work mean that the Maternity Nurse can get to know the household routine better and slot in more seamlessly. When choosing a live-in Maternity Nurse you may want to consider the size of your household, as depending on the layout there may be less privacy.

Night Nannies Who Live Out

Generally our clients will book a Night Nanny to work 5 or 6 nights per week while other clients will book only 3 to 4 nights per week.  Night Nannies will work a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 12 hours per 24 hours. This arrangement suits parents who wish to care for baby  themselves during the day but require full support during the night enabling a restful night’s sleep.

Nights Only Night Nanny

Booked for an 8-12 hours shift per night, she will arrive between 7 pm and 9 pm. Following a quick update from parents on baby’s day including feeds, she will discuss preferences for the night. While on duty, she will work discreetly to allow parents much-needed sleep and ensure the bottles and other equipment is sterilised, baby’s laundry is washed, dried and put away and that the nursery is clean, tidy and in order.

Days Only Maternity Nurse

Again, the Maternity Nurse can be booked for 8-12 hours and will typically arrive from 8 am onwards. Working alongside the new parents she will teach them how to care for their baby and, when required, take sole charge to give parents a rest. While on duty, she will ensure the bottles and other equipment is sterilised, baby’s laundry is washed, dried and put away and that the nursery is clean and orderly. As a Days Only Maternity Nurse, she will not require a bed, however, to ensure your privacy you can offer her separate area if desired.
