The Best Start For You And Your Family
We know from experience and from our clients’ feedback that Maternity Nurses and Night Nannies are an investment in effective long term sleep habits, not only for baby but for the whole family. By getting it right from the start you can avoid being one of those sleep-deprived parents our Founder constantly met on the school runs. We stand by this belief and specialise in placing Maternity Nurses and Night Nannies who focus on establishing that all important routine in the first few weeks, as opposed to the odd 24 hours here and there, in order to avoid those sleepless nights that can disrupt the health and happiness of your family.
Sourcing a Maternity Nurse or Night Nanny through Maternally Yours offers you peace of mind that recruiting through private adverts or personal recommendations cannot possibly offer. We take many calls from new clients who come to us as their privately booked Maternity Nurse or Night Nanny has let them down at the last minute or, on starting her booking, her incompatibility became clear. Such an experience is not only distressing but completely avoidable. As experts, and knowing our caregivers as we do, Maternally Yours will know exactly who will meet the family’s expectations for a successful booking at this special time and once a booking is made you can feel rest assured that your Maternity Nurse or Night Nanny is fully committed.
Since our inception in 1996, our ethos has always been to select only and work with only the best Maternity Nurses and Night Nannies in the industry. Given our reputation and track record of successful placements, we are highly regarded as the leading Maternity Nurse agency. We have worked with our Maternity Nurses and Night Nannies for many years, some of whom as far back as the ’90s and ’00s. This means we know exactly how they work, their approach and style and, through our on-going assessment process, whether they are the right fit for your family.
Our Register of Maternity Nurses and Night Nannies is filled only with outstanding and reliable professionals with proven track records and who have passed our stringent criteria and background checks.
Personal Interviews
Our Maternally Yours Consultants personally interview all applicants at the London office.
We only accept 1 in 5 applicants.
We establish early on the Maternity Nurses’ preferred working schedule and style of care, be it à la Gina Ford’s more structured approach, or Tracy Hogg’s baby-led style in order to find the perfect match for you.
Background Checks
Applicants who meet our criteria at interview are subject to on-going reference and suitability checks and are required to provide an up-to-date DBS Enhanced Certificate (Disclosure Barring Service) as well as notifying us of any changes to their health.
Those who successfully pass our stringent criteria and background checks are placed on The Maternally Yours Register.
Experience
All Maternity Nurses on the Maternally Yours Register have between 5-35 years’ newborn baby experience. To put this into perspective, this means your Maternity Nurse will have taken between 8-12 bookings per annum, and she will bring a wealth of wisdom and experience to your booking.
Alternatively, we can provide a selection of Junior Maternity Nurses who will have had 1-2 years’ experience and at least 5-10 years working in childcare. These Maternity Nurses charge a slightly lower fee, but are matched only with second or third-time parents who are looking for support and an ‘extra pair of hands’. They are not available for first-time parents.
To remain on the Maternally Yours Register, Maternity Nurses must continue to meet our strict criteria and are monitored to ensure their continued success.

At Maternally Yours, we require proof of and will only accept original certificates and qualifications.
Maternity Nurses Without Formal Qualifications
In exceptional circumstances, we do accept maternity nurses who whilst they may not have a formal qualification, have proven themselves over many years and built up an outstanding track record. All references will have been scrupulously verified before being accepted to join The Register.
Such Maternity Nurses are still required to meet our stringent criteria and are subject to on-going reference and suitability checks. Once again this includes an up-to-date Enhanced DBS Certificate (Disclosure Barring Service) and notifying us of any changes to their health.
